AI design, presentation and 3D tools for Australian teams

AI design tools help create layouts, graphics, presentations and 3D assets. Canva Magic Studio and Adobe Firefly generate and edit images inside familiar design apps, Figma's AI features help designers prototype and build interfaces, Gamma and Beautiful.ai turn outlines into slide decks, and tools such as Meshy, Tripo and Spline generate 3D models from text or images.

Design platforms moved quickly in 2025. Figma introduced Figma Make for turning prompts into working prototypes, Canva expanded its AI features and made its Affinity professional design apps free, and presentation tools added better charts, brand themes and export to PowerPoint. 3D generation improved enough for game prototyping, product visualisation and ecommerce previews.

Australia has a strong local connection to this category through Sydney-based Canva. Users include marketing teams producing on-brand assets, product designers in software companies, consultants and educators building presentations, architects and retailers visualising products, and game studios prototyping assets. Most teams use AI to speed up early drafts, then refine by hand.

How to choose

Brand control

Look for brand kits, locked templates, approved fonts and colours, and controls that stop AI from drifting off-brand. For larger teams, approval workflows and asset libraries matter more than the quality of any single generated image.

Designer or non-designer users

Canva and Gamma suit people who are not trained designers and need good results quickly. Figma and Adobe tools suit professional designers who want AI inside detailed workflows. Choosing the wrong level frustrates both groups.

Export and editability

Check that AI output is editable: layered designs, real text rather than images of text, PowerPoint or Google Slides export, and standard 3D formats. Outputs that cannot be edited lock you into regenerating whenever something changes.

Commercial safety of generated assets

Adobe trains Firefly on licensed and public domain content and attaches Content Credentials to outputs. Ask other vendors about training sources, indemnity and provenance labelling, especially for advertising and client deliverables.

3D quality for your pipeline

For 3D, test topology, texture quality, file formats and polygon counts against your engine or viewer. Generated models often need clean-up before use in games or real-time product configurators.

What Australian businesses should check

Australian copyright requires human authorship, so keep meaningful human design input in logos and key brand assets you want to protect, and register trade marks through IP Australia. Canva is headquartered in Sydney, yet its data residency options cover only the US or EU on enterprise-level plans, so assume designs are stored offshore. Uploading photos of staff or customers creates obligations under the Privacy Act 1988. Presentations and graphics used in advertising must not mislead under the Australian Consumer Law. Public-facing designs should meet accessibility expectations, including colour contrast and alt text. Canva bills in Australian dollars for local accounts, while most other design tools bill in US dollars.

Frequently asked questions

Is Canva's AI safe for commercial use?

Canva's terms permit commercial use of designs you create, including most AI outputs, and its Canva Shield programme offers indemnity for some enterprise customers. You remain responsible for not copying protected works or trade marks, and for having permission to use any photos of people you upload.

Is Gamma better than PowerPoint for presentations?

Gamma is faster for turning an outline or document into a polished first draft, and works well for web-style decks. PowerPoint with Copilot suits organisations that need corporate templates and offline editing. Many teams draft in Gamma and export to PowerPoint, so check how well your brand template survives export.

Can AI create 3D models for my products?

Yes, tools such as Meshy and Tripo turn photos or prompts into 3D models suitable for previews, prototypes and some ecommerce uses. For accurate product dimensions or manufacturing, models still need checking and refinement by a 3D artist, and services such as Kaedim combine AI with human review.

Does Figma use my designs to train its AI?

Figma lets organisation and enterprise administrators control whether content is used for AI training, with different defaults depending on plan. Check the setting in your admin console, confirm it matches your client contracts, and record the decision in your AI policy so designers know which files are safe to use.
